Sacramento Whale Test Results

Test results show that Delta is a proven breeder and Dawn is a female.  That’s good news.  I think so anyway.

Hawk Makes a Dramatic Showing

There’s been much action in this yard!  This morning while I was out with the dog and standing near the barn watching one of the bluebirds sitting on a post and listening to his soft alarm call, a Red-shouldered Hawk sailed out of the woods directly towards me, low, and passed within ten feet of me, at eye level, as it glided to the woods on the other side of the yard.  The sun picked up the magnificent, striking, rufous coloring on this bird.  It is my closest sighting of this hawk to date.

Look out squirrels, chipmunks and the like!
